Hi! My name is Michela and I am an illustrator, graphic designer and creative maker based in Italy.

In my art practice I mainly focus on drawing, painting and printmaking. I work mostly with mixed media, using gouache, coloured pencils, wax pastels and ink.

I also work with block print. I like to design patterns and then print them using hand-carved stamps. These patterns usually end up on the cover of my handmade sketchbooks.

I learned how to bind books because I couldn’t find a sketchbook with the kind of paper I needed. So one day I chose the paper I liked, cut it, folded it and bound it. I enjoyed the process of bookbinding so much that I started experimenting with different binding methods and different designs.

I enjoy trying various media and experimenting with different techniques, exploring different ways to communicate through my art. Maybe because I am a naturally curious person (and I get bored easily) or because I just love that feeling of having no idea what you’re doing while you try something for the first time. :)

All products on this shop are designed, packaged, and shipped by me, it's a one-person show!
